THE NORTH FACE 100 DOCUMENTARY ON FOX SPORTS
James Knight shot an awesome 52-minute documentary about his participation in The North Face 100 2010. It will be showing on Fox Sports 3 on 3 August 2010 at 3 pm. So tell everyone around you, family, friends, colleagues, and in the mean time, get a taste of what's to come:

By the way I'm certain that would have to be me bouncing like a cat down the rocks in my skins, white T-shirt and red bag. Go on prove it isn't.

Gnomes Abduct The Plan
Training is resuming. With some semblance of consistency in relation to the plan starting to take hold again. Having said all this it was immediately that the Gnomes took their hold in dragging me from the plan. There insistence that I take them skiing this week putting a dint in the build that was occurn Ness style up to this point.
So having forced myself away to the slopes of the NSW ski fields it was a sparse training week post Saturday. Still we have to do what we have to do I suppose. As such the week has been and shall not be changed at this point:
Saturday 17th July
AM run in the Park with Sleep Train, Shogun, Sarge, Fat Kiwi with addendum running happening with Rodthehornet and Sailaway from the same location but in divergent paths through the morning. All up a crisp mornings 2hrs logged having peaked bullant ridge to Portal into Euroka up Bennetts and home. Felt great all morning.
Sunday 18th - Wednesday 21st July
As previously stated forced by Gnomes to ski these days. First 2 days fairly relaxed but a solid 3rd day on Wed had the quads smashed up and screaming to stop (which of course would not occur).
Thursday 22nd July
Seems the advertised 11% chance given to not getting up in advertising the standard BMMC Thur run had a stronger influence than anticipated on the Bus heading home the evening before. I am lead to believe those who ran had a great time.
PM the inaugural Gnome instructors bicycle gathering at the Regatta Centre drew a crowd of three plus one. Clocked in 5 laps before the light was deemed insufficient by man in car with flashing lights. Will build this one to a meaningful ride as the holder of the great torch extends their OT working hours.
By the way today is international pie day (work the date, you will get it soon enough)
Friday 23rd July
AM and I must say I just hadn't remember how comfortable the bed was till I returned from the Gnomes go skiing. Just one more morning to remind myself I selected. The woods would have been too crowded this morning anyway.
PM saw the Gnomes on Mt Bikes at the road that is now closed. Up said road and round Knapsack before a descent of previously mentioned closed thorough fair. 1hr 15mins and plenty of of slow mo action found. Speedy transition and coffee at the bakehouse to discuss the plan to get me out of bed tomorrow.

A Few Months Of Fun & Building A Base
Have decided that there is too much fun to be had in cross training, and way too long till 2011 6ft to pound the body with relentless running. So it is time to pull out the bike and shake out the costumes for some fun time preseason training with a couple of more social events along the way.
It seems a basic plan will revolve around running Wilson to Bilpin and Sydney Marathon through August and September, rolling through the slight adjustment to SWMBO delivering Binary Baby in October and hitting a couple of triathlons in November - December. Particularly finding a long course event to wet the apetite in December. All of course linked to running in or helping out with the running wild trail series and long course series.
Week to week I think it should unfold along the lines of:
Will aim to hit this post holidays as I am enjoying my time fitting things in as they do currently and the Gnomes go skiing next Mon to Wed anyway. Still hope to hit PB off a very soft marathon PB and to take a chunk off W2B from last year.
For now it's back to holidays following my first ride in 8 months this afternoon. 30km at a pretty constant 30km hr round the lakes. Dodging holidaying family picnickers and 1 million scooters. Think it is time to build a third path at lakes for scooter hoons. Legs felt fairly good given the lack of condition I felt on Saturdays run through Long Angle out to Singles Ridge-Tall Timbers link track and Hawksbury circuit to home again.
Will definitely have to map this one as the 'W Run' linking Warrimoo to Winmalee and back. Plenty of options to add to the 2hrs it currently sits at as the LSD gets longer again.

- Mondays, afternoon 1hr run (incorporating Gnomes MonRun) and swim evenings
- Tuesdays, morning BMMC run and afternoon track session
- Wednesdays, Swim morning and cycle M7 cycleway afternoons
- Thursday, morning BMMC run and cycle afternoons
- Friday, morning swim and afternoon Mt Bike with Gnomes followed by 40min evening run
- Saturday, LSD run morning
- Sunday, build to LSD cycle morning with swim in the afternoon

Geocaching exposes my lack of direction
It is quite funny really that an activity reliant on sense of direction would clarify for me that I have now spent too much time aimless and needed a target to get me back on track with some purposeful training. It was in the crisp air of Mt Majura on the outskirts of Canberra, whilst visiting my Brother and his expanding family that I tracked down a few caches. Having got out for an early walk to clear the lungs of air conditioned heating infused oxygen. I was happy to pick up both:
1. Mt Majura flat
2. Fore Court of Canberra
1. Mt Majura flat
2. Fore Court of Canberra
It was however the clarity of my following set direction and distance that clarified it was time to chase a new target. So as of this morning it is time to get back into some focused training in preparing for 2010 (and just 1 day before my birthday):
